I first saw this in ideal circumstances - at the Harvard Film Archive on a grey August night. But even on the tiniest of screens, it loses none of its hypnotic, devastating power.
What a movie. I wasn't so lucky- my first big-screen viewing was as part of a 24-hour horror marathon, and in the middle of the splatter and gore this didn't go over too well. Didn't help that some jackass in the audience thought it would be funny to yell out "don't look now!" every time Sutherland's ass was shown during the sex scene.
